First and Last Time Using Agoda

This was my first time using Agoda, and unfortunately, it will be my last. The app itself is easy to use, booking was straightforward and the interface is user-friendly. However, the customer service experience has been extremely poor and completely undermined any confidence in the platform.I submitted a claim under their “Best Price Guarantee” after the same hotel room dropped by $80 per night on theor own site. My claim met all the advertised criteria, same room, same dates, same cancellation policy, submitted well within the time frame. Despite this, Agoda rejected the claim with no proper explanation. The response email was clearly a template, not even completed correctly with the customer service prompts left in, and failed to state a valid reason for the denial.I have attempted to esculate this and am awaiting a response. A booking platform is only as good as its support when something goes wrong, and in this case, Agoda failed completely.I won’t be using them again and would advise others to be cautious. A great-looking app means nothing without proper service behind it. The stars on the app store are deceptive however if you view the comments almost all recent comments are negative.FYI - the review doesnt allow email addresses and they are almost impossible to find on the app. The best way is to search using Ai.

Booked a prepaid hotel via Agoda.

I booked a hotel via Agoda prepaid. However when I reached the property. There was no such reservation available under my name and infact the property manager explained that they didn't have association with Agoda, it was early morning and it was such an inconvenience For us. Be cautious about the booking done via Agoda, double check with the property before arrival.

Charged double, got wrong room all cos TECHNICAL ERROR

Made a hotel reservation with agoda, checked all the details and confirmed my booking for studio seaview at $435, but the email confirmation i got stated it was for $870?! double! spent hours back and forth with customer service, n was told i had the pay the difference, so i finally called in after hours of chatting online, and again spent an hour only to be informed technical error, no apologies, no compension but guess what? now they've given me mountain view studio room which cost $385!!! called them to clarify and was put on hold for another hour, only to return with sorry you can dispute with the property when you're there?!! well done agoda!!! spits!

Booking

Made a booking with Priceline, received a confirmation email as well as reminder emails a few days before the rip, but the booking never actually was made by their partner company Agoda. Found out on the day of my trip in the hotel lobby. Will never use either of these 2 companies again and one of the worst travel experiences I've ever had.

Charged twice when we were supposed to be refunded

My wife and I booked a hotel in Seoul for 4 nights via Agoda. The hotel has a partial cancellation policy, meaning that if you cancel your book within 24 hours of proposed the check-in date, you are charged for the first night but refunded for the remaining nights.We cancelled at short notice and the hotel instructed Agoda to refund us £315 of the £420 booking total. Instead, Agoda has charged us an additional £315, meaning we’ve paid £735 in total when we only owe £105.Agoda’s telephone customer service is genuinely awful. The company seems to have informed its staff to try and wash their hands of any problem. We’ve been told everything from a) Agoda doesn’t have the ability to see the transaction it’s charged us on its IT systems to b) that we have to provide a certified medical exemption certificate to be entitled to a refund (even if the hotel has instructed Agoda to refund us and its cancellation policy says otherwise).It looks like we’re going to have to resort to disputing the charges through our credit card provider as Agoda seems uninterested in resolving its mistakes.Not one to usually post negative reviews, but I would encourage others to stay well clear of this company and its services. Appears to regularly default on its customer obligations, and reflects very poorly on the industry as a whole.

Do not book flights through agoda

Do not book flights through agoda. I booked and paid for a flight, which later got cancelled by the airline. Two months later, I have still not received a refund and everytime I contact customer support, I get a generic email that says "We have submitted your cancellation requestto the airline for further processing. The final refund amount is subject to the airline's approval and cannot be guaranteed at this stage." Absolutely ridiculous, the airline decided to cancel a flight that I paid for and I don't even know if I will get a refund. It should be pretty simple since I am not the one who chose to cancel.Terrible experience and lost money too.

Women’s safety is not a priority

The company rated a hotel as four star and I booked under their non refundable policy. When we got there, it was a one star hotel. The sheets had blood stains on them and the hotel was under renovation. There were male workers walking around everywhere and the looked like they had access to the rooms. I was staying with my mum and daughter and didn’t feel safe as three females. Complained to the hotel and left within 10 minutes but they said I had to deal with Agoda. So far, Agoda has done nothing to resolve and aren’t interested in women’s safety

WORST EVER

WORST EVER, totally scammer. I just cancelled my flight booking on 11 April. I just received my refund on 20 April but not even half. I ask for explanations about the fee & charges and the balance of my refund but they didn't answer my email even my calls. Then I have called the airlines to confirm about this matter and the airlines told that they did not received any payment from Agoda because before they process my flight ticket Agoda already voided my ticket means the payment still hold by Agoda. FYI when I asked Agoda about the refund they told me the refund amount depends on the airlines. Until now Agoda still did not reply my email and my calls.

Just a few days ago I used Agoda to rent a 2 night stay in Kansas City at a vacation rental property. My girlfriend and I were staying in KC together at this property and originally she was going to pay for it on Agoda but we ended up going back in later on this day to pay and I ended up being the payer and changed all the information on the reservation but the name. Paid for it and got a confirmation. When I got to the property I wasn't with the other girl who was staying with me at the moment and so I contacted the property rental people for the information to get the specifics and check in info...she asked for the reservation makers ID which I then realized it was in her name still which was a mistake. And so I explained it to property manager and they refused to give me the information to get in with out the other girls ID which wasn't possible due to her being in a meeting for work. I call Agoda next and finally got it changed to my name and contact the rental property and let them know...they then tell me I have to pay a deposit of $100 to get the check in info and I'll still need the other girls ID... so from 8:30pm on April 16th till 2:00am April 17th I went back and forth with Agoda, the property rental people, until they stopped responding around 11pm, then just Agoda and I till 2am. I was verbally promised a refund of my money since I never received the information to get in the property I rented, and I was screwed out of $247 and stranded with no where to stay for 2 days. Still no refund and now they're saying they are not going to refund!!!

It's a good website that offers cheap prices (at least compared to other booking websites) but just like other booking webs too, it also has LOOPHOLES.First, the booking cancellation. On my side, I early booked a room at a hotel in Cebu and I was never hesitate because the WEBSITE (Agoda) said that IT HAS FREE CANCELLATION and FREE REFUND. After few days, my schedule suddenly change and I wanted to change the dates on my early booking but upon my login to this wsite, my booking suddenly displayed "This booking is non-refundable" and when I messaged the hotel management, they said that I should talk to Agoda for that matters. I waited again for few days and suddenly got an email from the wsite that says I CAN'T CANCEL my booking! Second, they DID NOT ACCEPT my payment on my e-wallet so I used my personal bank account instead. I am really DISAPPOINTED on this website and will never recommend it to anyone else!

False Cashback Promises & Zero SupportAgoda promised cashback 60 days after checkout, but now they’re demanding proof I stayed at the hotel — even though I booked through their platform. They rejected my bank statement because it didn’t list the hotel name, only the location. Why is it on the customer to prove this? Agoda refuses to contact the property themselves. Completely unhelpful and frustrating experience. Won’t be booking through them again.

Agoda Customer service in case of complaint

While the booking payment etc. works fine, any complaint will be most likely "unsolved" as they doesn't own the property.I have been through one of my worst experiences ever (did stay at hotel as i arrived late evening with 2 kids etc). Agoda customer service been contacting property for 2 months with no resolve. I strongly recommend to pay by credit card, and in case of such service request refund by credit card company as Agoda doesn't really work.

User-Unfriendly Agoda

I wasnt able to change the date or cancel the reservation although I contacted Agoda and tge hotel immediately. There was a mistake with the date, and not necessarily mine. Initially, I typed in the cirrect dates. The customer service is unavailable. The "free cancelation" is a promise never to be kept. I'll never use Agoda again.

Failed booking due to price change

First time using this app, then tried to book a flight, there is wait for 2 hours of the payment, I come to nearest ATM Machine, after the payment complete and receive the recipt, I check app and said succes.The in web app redirected to main app and see the booking failed due to price change, it is understandable.Then I'm contacting their support chat said 24/7, but the AI answer to choose one of the menu, tried to Contact customer care, and notified that there is no booking in my account.What a stupid app you guys develop? At least try to lock and book the ticket. I hope the pre-auth is correct so my fund will get back, otherwise I will review this via Linkedin as well

Agoda Sided with a Dishonest Hotel and Refused a Refund for a Room That Didn’t ExistI booked a sea view room through Agoda, but when I arrived, the hotel put me in a completely different, outdated room with no sea view and a strong moldy smell that made it unlivable. There was no one at the property to help, and no way to reach the hotel directly. We left the same day without staying — we couldn’t breathe in that room and were given no help or alternatives.I contacted Agoda immediately. They acknowledged that the room did not match the one advertised and that my experience did not meet expectations — yet they still refused to give a refund, claiming they “can’t” do anything without the hotel’s approval. They offered me $24 in AgodaCash as compensation for an entire unused booking, which is both insulting and meaningless.Agoda took my money but refuses to take responsibility when the hotel blatantly lied about what they were offering. They are not protecting customers, just shielding the hotel to avoid financial loss themselves. This is a clear case of false advertising, zero accountability, and a total lack of customer support.I’ve filed a dispute with my credit card and will be reporting Agoda to consumer protection authorities. I strongly advise others to book directly with hotels or use platforms that actually stand behind their service.

Extremely Disappointed with Agoda's Service​

I booked a 2-night stay at Super Hotel O The Royal Nest Near Shilparamam in Hyderabad through Agoda (Booking ID: 1559298557) for my 75-year-old parents. Despite receiving a confirmation email and paying in advance, they were denied accommodation upon arrival, with the hotel claiming no booking was received.​This left my elderly parents stranded in an unfamiliar city, causing them significant stress and forcing them to find alternative lodging at the last minute.​Attempts to contact Agoda's customer service were unhelpful, and I was informed that no refund was possible after the check-in time, despite the service not being delivered.​This experience has been incredibly disappointing, and I urge others to exercise caution when booking through Agoda.
